Establishment History:
- Established on June 4, 1993 with a determined vision of becoming the leading retail commercial joint stock bank in Vietnam. On October 31, 2006, ACB was approved by the Hanoi Securities Trading Center to list from Decision No. 21/QD-TTGDHN with stock code ACB. As of December 12, 2007, ACB's charter capital is 2,630,059,960,000 VND.
- ACB's Development Strategy Orientation for the period 2011- 2015 and vision for 2020 were issued; which emphasizes transforming the operating management system in accordance with Vietnamese legal regulations and aiming to apply best international practices.
- Putting into operation the first enterprise module data center, built according to international standards in Vietnam, with a total investment value of nearly 2 million USD .
- ACB Gold Center is the first unit in the industry to simultaneously be certified by QMS Australia for its quality management system meeting the requirements of ISO 9001:2008 and by the Accreditation of Vietnam for its testing and calibration capacity (determination of gold content) to meet the requirements of ISO/IEC 17025:2005.
- The incident in August 2012 had a significant impact on ACB's operations, especially gold mobilization and trading. ACB responded well to the withdrawal incident that occurred in the last week of August; quickly restore the entire VND savings deposit balance in just a short time afterward; and drastically implement cost cutting in the last 6 months of the year.
- In 2013, operating efficiency was not as expected but ACB still had positive growth in mobilization and lending, 18% and 15% respectively. ACB's bad debt is controlled below 3%. The staff size is also streamlined. Implement the restructuring roadmap for 2013 - 2015 according to the regulations of the State Bank.
- N In 2014, ACB upgraded the core banking system from TCBS to DNA, replacing the old system that had been in use for 14 years. Completed the change of logos and head office signs for all branches, transaction offices and ATMs according to the new brand identity (announced January 5, 2015). Complete the development of a risk management framework to fully meet new regulations on safety ratios. Scale and business efficiency of distribution channels are improved.
- In 2015, ACB completed strategic projects such as (i) restructuring distribution channels, (ii) forming a domestic payment center (phase 1), (iii) completing the method of evaluating the performance of units and Head Office staff; At the same time, initiate and deploy projects of transaction banking, priority banking, sales management system, etc. to improve competitiveness.

Based on the number of branches and transaction offices and the contribution of each region to the Bank's total profit, Ho Chi Minh City, the Southeast and the Red River Delta are the Bank's key markets.
