Establishment History:
- An Giang Agricultural Products Import-Export Company (formerly known as An Giang Agricultural and Fishery Import-Export Company) is a state-owned enterprise established under Decision No. 71/QD-UBTC dated February 10, 1990 of the People's Committee of An Giang province from the merger of 3 companies: Livestock Company; Seafood Import-Export Company and Seafood Exploitation and Processing Enterprise.
- By 1992, based on the regulations on establishment and dissolution of state-owned enterprises issued under Decree 156/HDBT dated May 7, 1992 of the Council of Ministers, the People's Committee of An Giang province issued Decision No. 528/QD dated November 2, 1992 to re-establish the Company, and continue merged a part of Forest Products Company into An Giang Agricultural and Fishery Import-Export Company.
- After a period of operation, the Company has continuously developed and grown, always bringing high efficiency in the production and business process and becoming one of the leading companies in An Giang province.
- In 1995, in order to promote the development process and create favorable conditions suitable to the actual situation as well as the ability to manage operations according to specialized functions, the People's Committee of An Giang province separated the Company into two independently operating companies: An Giang Seafood Import-Export Company (now An Giang Seafood Import-Export Joint Stock Company - AGIFISH) and An Giang Seafood Import-Export Joint Stock Company - AGIFISH. An Giang Agricultural Products Import-Export Company - AN GIANG AFIEX. Accordingly, An Giang Agricultural Products Import-Export Company was renamed and established according to Decision No. 69/QD-UB dated January 29, 1996 of the People's Committee of An Giang province.
- On the past journey, the Company is proud to be a state-owned enterprise achieving high growth efficiency, always playing a leading role in implementing the Province's guidelines and policies. Following the development trend, the Company has been approved by the Provincial People's Committee to transform into a joint stock company according to Decision No. 1808/QD-UBND dated September 22, 2010.
- On March 15, 2011, the Company held a General Meeting of Shareholders to establish and officially operate as a joint stock company from April 1, 2011 with a charter capital of 350 billion VND.
