Establishment History:
- The predecessor of Sao Mai Group (formerly known as Sao Mai Investment & Construction Joint Stock Company, An Giang province) was an Architecture joint venture company of An Giang province established in 1988. By 1997, following the trend of opening and integrating the economy at that time, key officials were separated into Established Sao Mai Construction Joint Stock Company, An Giang province. This is the first non-state-owned enterprise with a Party cell in the Province. Initially, Sao Mai's staff was less than 50 people. Charter capital was 905 million VND then increased to several billion VND, main activities were construction and installation projects in the Western and Southeast provinces and then expanded to the Central Highlands. - In 2002 and the following years, when the real estate market prospered, with an existing foundation in the construction segment, Sao Mai began to expand its operations into the field of real estate investment and trading and services. Construction contracting activities gradually narrowed to make room for real estate projects stretching from the West to Ho Chi Minh City, the East and the North. Participating in this field with a series of urban residential infrastructure projects, industrial cluster infrastructure, etc. has helped Sao Mai significantly increase profits and made Sao Mai a leading real estate investor in the Mekong Delta region. - With the orientation of developing into a multi-industry business corporation, in 2007 Sao Mai invested in the seafood sector through investing in the construction of the 23-hectare Vam Cong industrial cluster in Dong Thap province. The entire land fund of the industrial cluster will only be reserved for Sao Mai's subsidiaries and affiliated companies to build factories related to the chain of farming, processing and exporting finished products and value-added products of pangasius. Currently, in this industrial cluster, 4 factories have been established, including Pangasius frozen processing factory No. 1 with a capacity of 300 tons/12 hours, Pangasius frozen processing factory No. 2 with a capacity of 150 tons/12 hours, fish oil fish meal processing factory with a capacity of 300 tons/day and fish oil refining factory with a capacity of 100 tons of raw materials/day. Another factory under construction, expected to be completed and put into operation in June 2016, is an aquatic food factory with a capacity of 20 tons/hour. In addition, many other factories such as packaging factories and shortening - margarine processing factories. . . will be built in the near future. In addition, Sao Mai also owns dozens of hectares of pangasius farming areas as well as hundreds of hectares of linked farming areas in Dong Thap, An Giang and Can Tho provinces to serve the processing factory. By participating in the seafood sector, Sao Mai is in the TOP 5 largest pangasius exporters in Vietnam and is a reputable fish oil and fish meal producer in the region.
