- Summary Timeline of Establishment & Development
Saigon Bus Joint Stock Company (“Saigonbus”) is one of the oldest transportation businesses operating in Ho Chi Minh City. To meet the constantly increasing needs of customers, Saigonbus has expanded many other services such as: tourism, international transportation, driver training, repair and new vehicle building services, in addition to the traditional services that Saigonbus has operated since its inception, which are public transportation and passenger transportation.
- Main development milestones of Saigonbus:
- 1976: The company was established under Decision No. 217/QD-UB by the People's Committee of Ho Chi Minh City on April 9, 1976, formerly known as the Tourist Car Company with the task of transporting officials on business trips. The Company's first headquarters was located at 131 Nguyen Hue, District 1, City. Ho Chi Minh.
- In 1983: The company was assigned to manage a number of buses and took on the task of transporting public passengers by bus to serve the people of Ho Chi Minh City.
- In 1992: The company was renamed Saigon Bus Company under the Department of Transport and Public Works (now the Department of Transport) according to Decision No. 158/QDUB dated December 3, 1992 of the People's Committee of Ho Chi Minh City.
- In 1997: The company was transformed into a State-owned enterprise operating in public service, performing the main task of public passenger transport by bus in Ho Chi Minh City according to Decision No. 5350/QDUBKT dated October 2, 1997 of the People's Committee of Ho Chi Minh City and Decision No. 95/QD-TCNSTL dated July 26, 1997 of Ho Chi Minh City Department of Transport and Public Works.
- 2004: The company became a member of Saigon Transportation Mechanical Corporation (SAMCO) according to Decision No. 172/2004/QD-UB dated July 15, 2004 of Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee on the establishment of General Mechanical Corporation Saigon Transportation follows the model of Parent Company - Subsidiary Company.
- In 2006: The company was renamed Saigon Passenger Car Company Limited according to Decision No. 1264/QD-UBND dated March 22, 2006 of the Chairman of Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee.
- 2010: The company moved its office to 39 Hai Thuong Lan Ong, Ward 10, District 5, Ho Chi Minh City.
- On December 31, 2015, the City People's Committee. Ho Chi Minh City issued Decision No. 7164/QD-UBND dated December 31, 2015 on approving the Plan and converting Saigon Passenger Car One Member LLC under Saigon Transportation Mechanical Corporation - One Member LLC into a joint stock company.
- On March 8, 2016, Saigon Passenger Car Company Limited successfully organized an initial public offering (IPO) auction at the Ho Chi Minh City Stock Exchange (HOSE) with the result of 5,757,100 shares, equivalent to 9.60% of the Company's charter capital was sold with an average successful auction price of 10,200 VND/share.
- On May 23, 2016, the Company issued a notice to investors who participated in the initial public offering auction to further offer 9,309,500 unsold shares by direct agreement method.
- On May 31, 2016, the entire number of shares not sold out in the share auction at the Ho Chi Minh City Stock Exchange. Ho Chi Minh was purchased by 02 (two) investors (one individual investor, one institutional investor) through direct agreement with the result: 9,309,500 shares, equivalent to 15.52% of the company's charter capital were sold at an agreed price of 10,200 VND/share.
- On July 28, 2016, Saigon Passenger Car One Member LLC successfully organized the General Meeting of Shareholders to establish Saigon Passenger Car Joint Stock Company;
- On August 19, 2016, the Company officially switched to operating in the form of a joint stock company according to Business Registration Certificate No. 0300478044 issued by the Department of Planning and Investment of Ho Chi Minh City for the first time on April 21, 2006, changed for the first time on April 21, 2006. 11 on August 19, 2016 with a charter capital of 600,000,000,000 VND.
- On October 13, 2016, Saigon Passenger Car Joint Stock Company was approved by the State Securities Commission for its public company registration application according to official dispatch No. 6887/UBCK-GSĐC dated October 13, 2016; - On November 2, 2016, Vietnam Securities Depository Center issued a Securities Registration Certificate and issued a stock code to Saigon Passenger Car Joint Stock Company.
Note: Since completing the equitization work and moving to operate as a joint stock company, Saigon Passenger Car Joint Stock Company has not increased its charter capital and has no plans to increase its charter capital in the near future;
