Formation history:
- On January 7, 1978, the Central Cotton Company was established with 3 cotton farms and 1 cotton research center
- On June 15, 1993, Vietnam Cotton Company was established under Decision No. 256/TCCB-QD of the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Industry on the basis of the Central Cotton Company. During this period, the farms were dissolved and handed over to localities
- From 1993 - 2003: The company has more than 11 affiliated units including branches in Dong Nai, Ninh Thuan, Dak Lak, Gia Lai, Nha Trang, Hanoi, product quality inspection stations, plant seed enterprises, cotton industry commercial service enterprises, and Cotton Research Institute
- On October 26, 2005, Vietnam Cotton Company transferred to Vietnam Cotton Company Limited according to Decision No. 265/2005/QD-TT of the Prime Minister
- On December 13, 2006, the Ministry of Industry issued decision No. 3578/QD-BCN approving the equitization plan and converting Vietnam Cotton State Limited Company into Vietnam Cotton Joint Stock Company
- From June 18, 2007, Vietnam Cotton Joint Stock Company officially went into operation according to Business Registration Certificate No. 4103007036 in Ho Chi Minh City. The first General Meeting of Shareholders to establish the Company was held on May 4, 2007
