- 1976: Ho Chi Minh City Construction Materials and Interior Decoration Joint Stock Company was formerly the Construction Materials Division of the Construction Materials and Fuel Company. Due to the needs of economic development, according to regulation No. 135/TCCQ dated March 16, 1976 of the People's Committee of Ho Chi Minh City, this department was separated and became an independent company also called Construction Materials and Interior Decoration Company, directly under the Department of Trade of Ho Chi Minh City.
- The company is a state-owned enterprise so capital is mainly provided by the state budget. When first established, the company's initial capital was 840,189,320 VND. With the mission of organizing purchasing, self-production and processing, focusing on supplying goods to perform the role of wholesale, supplying goods to district and commercial units and partially meeting the construction needs of Ho Chi Minh City and some neighboring provinces.
- 1992: After a long period of effective business, the Company was allowed to be re-established by the State under Decree 388/HDBT of the Council of Ministers dated September 29, 1992. Of which, business capital is 4,513 million VND (State budget allocated: 3,034 million VND; self-administered capital: 1,479 million VND); Fixed capital is 2,225 million VND; Working capital is 3,228 million VND. The business line is construction materials and interior decoration.
- Year 1994: November 15, 1994 The company added functions: Interior repair and decoration - production of construction materials; Civil and industrial construction (January 1, 1999, the company abandoned this function due to the difficulty of applying value added tax to settlement); Production of construction materials. The company has focused on quickly investing in key construction materials to contribute to dominating the market.
- In 1999: The Company's business capital reached 6,936 million VND. Of which, fixed capital: 3,649 million VND (Budget source: 1,118 million VND, Self-additional source: 2,531 million VND), Working capital: 3,287 million VND.
- Year 2001: According to Decision No. 1286/QD-TTg dated September 28, 2001 of the Prime Minister, the Company was transformed from Ho Chi Minh City Construction Materials and Interior Decoration Company (State-owned enterprise) to a Joint Stock Company with the name Materials Joint Stock Company. City Construction and Interior Decoration Materials. Ho Chi Minh City (abbreviated as CMID), Business Registration Certificate No. 4103000762 issued by the Department of Planning and Investment of Ho Chi Minh City on December 31, 2001. Charter capital: 20,000,000,000 VND. In which: the State contributes capital of 4,000,000,000 VND, accounting for 20%. The remaining 80% is shareholder capital.
- After nearly 40 years of operation, the Company has continuously developed in terms of scale, capital assets, business lines, service quality, and competitiveness. With an initial capital of over 840 million VND in 1976, by 2002 when equitized it was 20 billion VND and by the end of 2014 it was 150 billion VND.
- On November 8, 2018, the Vietnam Securities Depository Center issued Securities Registration Certificate No. 98/201 8/GCNCP-VSD for 15,000,000 shares of the Company.
