Hanoi Metallurgical Joint Stock Company - Vnsteel (HNSTEELCORP) formerly known as Hanoi Metallurgical Department, under Metalwork and Construction Equipment, General Department of Materials. Decision No. 2840/QD - BCN dated September 7, 2005 of the Minister of Industry on converting Hanoi Metal Company into Hanoi Metal Joint Stock Company.

Officially put into operation on December 21, 2005 with a charter capital of 90 billion VND

Is a member unit of Vietnam Steel Corporation - JSC (VNS)

The formation, development and growth of the company over time:

- July 1, 1960: Established Hanoi Metallurgy Branch under the Metalwork and Equipment Department, General Department of Materials.
- 1970: Established Hanoi Metal Company under Metal Corporation.
- 1980 - 1982: Hanoi Metal Company belonged to the Material Supply Union of Region I.
- 1983: Hanoi Metal Company belonged to the Material Import-Export Union.
- 1985 - 1992: Hanoi Metal Company under Metal Corporation - Ministry of Materials
- May 28, 1993: Hanoi Metal Company belongs to Vietnam Steel Corporation.

- Year 2005: Hanoi Metal Company was awarded equitized and converted into Hanoi Metal Joint Stock Company.

- On January 1, 2006, Hanoi Metal Joint Stock Company officially went into operation

- July 2, 2007: Hanoi Metal Joint Stock Company officially becomes a public company

- April 2, 2010: Hanoi Metal Joint Stock Company was granted a certificate of securities registration at the Securities Depository Center Vietnam Stock Exchange
- From May 13, 2016: Hanoi Metal Joint Stock Company changed its name to Hanoi Metal Joint Stock Company - Vnsteel.
