Establishment History and development:

  • 1898: Hanoi Wine Factory was established at 94 Lo Duc. This is the largest wine factory among the five factories built by the French Fontaine Company in Indochina and operated by the French at that time.
  • In 1946, when the resistance war against the French was taking place on a large scale, in Hanoi, the resistance forces gained control of the situation at the winery. November 21, 1955: according to the decree of the Ministry of Economy, the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the request of the Department of Technology and the consent of the Government Economic Committee, the Ministry of Industry issued a Decision to establish a Factory Restoration Board to repair and restore post-war consequences, putting Hanoi Wine Factory into operation with the purpose of producing alcohol for health care, national defense and people's livelihood.
  • From 1960 - 1961: The factory carried out a "technical revolution" with the support of leading German and Chinese biology experts: replacing wine production from the Alylo method to the Mycomalte method to increase product recovery efficiency and diversify raw material sources.
  • From 1970 - 1978: The factory was continuously awarded certificates of merit "Determining Winning Unit".
  • From 1978 - 1985: The factory conducted research and successfully built a wine refining tower according to the French "Sodecial" tower system. The new system ensures the quality of refined wine meets high standards.
  • Year 2004: Hanoi Wine Factory transformed into Hanoi Wine State Company Limited according to Decision No. 172/2004/QD-BCN dated December 20, 2004 of the Minister of Industry.
  • Year 2006: Hanoi Alcohol One Member Limited Liability Company transformed into Hanoi Alcohol Joint Stock Company according to Decision No. 2920/QD-BCN dated October 20, 2006 of the Minister of Industry on approving the plan and converting to a one-member state limited liability company Hanoi Wine became Hanoi Wine Joint Stock Company. The company officially operates under form of shares from December 6, 2006 with initial charter capital of 48,500,000,000 VND.
  • 2008: Hanoi Alcohol Joint Stock Company was upgraded to become a Class 1 Enterprise and received ISO 9001:2000 certificate. The company is honored to receive the emulation flag from the Government of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam for the enterprise leading the national emulation movement and many other prestigious awards.
  • 2010: The company was awarded the first-class labor medal from the Government on the 4th anniversary of equitization.
  • January 24, 2011: The company signed a strategic partnership contract with Diageo Singapore Private Limited, the world's leading beverage corporation, according to which Diageo's entire stake in Ha Alcohol Joint Stock Company The capital (corresponding to 30% of Halico's charter capital) will be held by Streetcar Investment Pte Ltd (a subsidiary of Diageo), and this organization will provide technical support for marketing, sales, and improving production capacity for Halico. To date, Streetcar Investment has increased its ownership ratio to 45.57% of Halico's charter capital.
  • In 2007, Hanoi Alcohol Joint Stock Company registered a public company with the State Securities Commission. In 2012, because the number of shareholders of the Company decreased to less than 100 investors, on September 19, 2012, the State Securities Commission issued Document No. 3373/UBCK-QLPH approving the termination of the public company status of Hanoi Alcohol Joint Stock Company from September 19, 2012.
  • In January 2018, due to the number of shareholders of the Company having more than 100 investors and qualifying as a public company, the Company resubmitted the application for public company registration. On April 16, 2018, the State Securities Commission (SSC) issued Document No. 2352/UBCK-GSĐC approving Hanoi Alcohol and Liquor Joint Stock Company's becoming a public company.
