- The predecessor of Kien Giang Import-Export Joint Stock Company was Nam Hai Port Import-Export Company, established in 1975, directly under Western Port Import-Export Company, main office located in Can Tho.
- In 1976, it changed to Kien Giang Foreign Trade Company under Kien Giang Provincial People's Committee.
- In 1981, the name was changed to Kien Giang Export Joint Company.
- In 1982, the name was changed to Kien Giang Import-Export Company Lien Hiep. At that time, the affiliated companies were Fruit and Vegetable Import-Export Company, Vegetable Oil Company, Kieu Hoi Store, Agricultural Food Export Company, Pineapple Freezing Factory, Export Seafood Freezing Enterprise (XN I), Song Kien Fleet.
- In 1988, it changed to Kien Giang Import-Export Company.
- In 1992, the People's Committee of Kien Giang province issued Decision No. 542/UB-QD dated August 19, 1992 on the establishment of the State Enterprise Kien Giang Import-Export Company and operating under the import-export business license No. 4081004 issued by the Ministry of Trade on March 1, 1993.
- In April 1994, Kien Giang Food Company merged into Kien Giang Import-Export Company.
- In 1995, the Southern Food Corporation issued Decision No. 071/TCT/TCLD - QD dated November 25, 1995 on receiving the state-owned enterprise Kien Giang Import-Export Company.
- On May 31, 2005, Kien Giang Import-Export Company transformed into a one-member limited liability company according to Decision No. 123/2005/QD-TTg of the Prime Minister.
- On November 7, 2005, Kien Giang Import-Export One Member Company Limited was granted business registration certificate No. 1700100989 with registered charter capital of 20 billion VND.
- The company coordinated with the Ho Chi Minh City Stock Exchange to organize the initial public offering auction on June 8, 2016, with a share book of 8,582,500 shares,
- On June 20, 2016, the Company received approval from the Corporation to hold the first General Meeting of Shareholders on June 27, 2016. From July 1, 2016 to present, the Company operates normally in the form of a Joint Stock Company.
- On June 27, 2016, the General Meeting of Shareholders was successfully organized.
- On July 1, 2016, Kien Giang Food Company Limited was converted into Kien Giang Import-Export Joint Stock Company according to business registration certificate No. 1700100989 issued for the 19th time with a charter capital of 254,300,000,000 VND.
- On April 5, 2017, Kien Giang Import-Export Joint Stock Company was approved by the State Securities Commission (SSC) to register as a public company according to official dispatch No. 1789/UBCK-GSĐC of the State Securities Commission.
- On August 4, 2017, the Company was granted Securities Registration Certificate No. 153/2017/GCNCP-VSD by the Vietnam Securities Depository Center (VSD), with a total registered volume of 25,430,000 shares.
