1. The period of formation and transformation (1976 – 2003)
• 1976: Formerly a state-owned enterprise named Quoc Doanh Phu Khanh Book Publishing, established on March 5, 1976 according to Decision No. 342/QD-UB of Phu Khanh Provincial People's Committee
• Period 1987 - 1993: The company changed its name to Phu Khanh Book Publishing Company (1987) and Khanh Hoa Book Publishing Company (1989) after the re-establishment of the province. In 1993, the company was re-established under Decision No. 1031/QD-UB
• 2003: Implemented equitization according to Decision No. 2458/QD-UB dated August 5, 2003 of Khanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee. The company officially operated in the form of a joint stock company with an initial charter capital of 1.4 billion VND from that date. October 27, 2003
2. The process of developing the book center network
The company continuously invests in building new and upgrading book centers (TTS) to expand the market:
• 2004 – 2010: Opening of Naval Academy (2004), TTS Thong Nhat (2005-2006), Vinh Phuoc Auditorium (2007), Van Ninh Auditorium (2007) and Ninh Hoa District Bookstore (2009).
• 2014 – 2022: Build more commercial service centers in Nha Trang (2014), TTS Ninh Diem (2019), TTS Cam Ranh (2020) and TTS Navy 2 (2022).
• 2024 – 2025: Putting into operation Tan Tien Trainee (June 2024), Phuoc Hai Trainee (July 2024). It is expected that by the end of 2025, additional TTS Dien Khanh 2, TTS Phan Rang and TTS Tuy Hoa will be completed and put into operation.
3. Process of increasing charter capital
To serve the goal of expanding production and business, the company has increased its charter capital 8 times.
• 1st time (2006): Increased to 2,732 billion VND
• 2nd - 5th time (2009 - 2014): Charter capital gradually increased from 4.7 billion VND to more than 9.3 billion VND through issuing shares to existing shareholders, employees and from equity sources
• 6th time (2015): Strong increase to 30 billion VND to contribute capital to invest in commercial and service centers
• 7th time (2022): Increase to 36 billion VND to supplement working capital and expand industries
• 8th time (2024): Increase to 50 billion VND through issuing shares to existing shareholders and new investors
4. Current position
Currently, the company is managing a system of 14 Book Centers in Khanh Hoa province and surrounding areas with a total management area of nearly 3,000 m2. With a team of more than 150 employees, KHX is considered the leading unit in the field of book publishing business in the Khanh Hoa province market
