Establishment History:
- Kontum Sugar Joint Stock Company, formerly known as Kon Tum Sugar Company, is a state-owned enterprise under the People's Committee of Kon Tum province, established in 1995 under the national sugar program.
- After 5 years of operation, Kon Tum Sugar Company was ineffective so it was converted into Kon Tum Sugar Factory, dependent on Quang Ngai Sugar Company. When Quang Ngai Sugar Company was equitized at the end of 2006, Kon Tum Sugar Factory was separated from Quang Ngai Sugar Joint Stock Company because it could not be equitized and transformed into Kon Tum Sugar Company - an independent state company, directly under the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development.
- However, for many different reasons, Kon Tum Sugar Company operates ineffectively. As of March 31, 2007, Kon Tum Sugar Company's total debt amounted to 129 billion VND, negative equity of more than 36 billion VND. With the purpose of solving difficulties for businesses, the Debt and Asset Trading Company (DATC) has participated in buying debt and successfully restructuring Kon Tum Sugar Company. As a special financial institution of the Government, DATC has purchased debt from banks and restructured businesses.
- After receiving approval from the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development for the financial restructuring plan and conversion of Kon Tum Sugar Company into a joint stock company, Kon Tum Sugar Company has been financially restructured and converted into a joint stock company by DATC from date July 1, 2008.
- December 31, 2010: Kon Tum Sugar Joint Stock Company officially listed 3 million shares on the Hanoi Stock Exchange (HNX) with the stock code KTS
- 2012: Extraordinary General Meeting of Shareholders, decided to increase the Company's Charter Capital from 39 billion to 50.7 billion by paying dividends in shares to existing shareholders
- 2013: Additional listing of 1,170,000 shares on HNX

- Sugar production;
- Production, transmission, and distribution of electricity;
- Wholesale of agricultural and forestry raw materials (except wood, bamboo) and live animals;
- Buying and selling fertilizers, pesticides and other chemicals used in agriculture;
- Packaging production;
- Installation of machinery and equipment;
- Machining and manufacturing mechanical products.
