Establishment History:
- Vietnam Mechanical, Electrical and Construction Joint Stock Company, formerly known as Tractor Repair Workshop (Factory 250A - Bach Mai Hanoi - Under the General Department of Technical Equipment - Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development) was established under Decision No. 07/NN-QD dated March 8, 1956.
- On March 21, 1969, Factory 250A changed its name to: Hanoi Tractor Overhaul Factory - Under the General Department of Technical Equipment - Ministry of Agriculture; and in 1977, the task of producing spare parts and agricultural machines was added, so it was renamed Hanoi Agricultural Mechanical Factory I. On December 12, 1990, the name of Agricultural Mechanical Factory I Hanoi was changed to Agricultural Mechanical and Electrical Factory I Hanoi.
- In 1993, according to the Government's policy on re-establishing state-owned enterprises, the Electromechanical and Rural Development Company was established on the basis of Hanoi Agricultural Electromechanical Factory I, with the main business lines being: Equipment manufacturing industry, agricultural machine spare parts, wholesale trade, retail and other industries, according to Decision No. 202/NN-TCCB/QD dated March 24, 1993 of the Minister of Agriculture and Food Industry (now the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development); M&E and Rural Development Company is a member unit of M&E Construction Corporation for Agriculture and Irrigation.
- On March 11, 2002, the Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development issued Decision No. 764/QD/BNN-TCCB merging the Agricultural and Irrigation Mechanical and Electrical Company 5, a unit operating in the same industry, into the Rural Development and Mechanical Electrical Company.
- On October 29, 2003, the Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development issued Decision No. 4797/QD/BNNTCCB to merge NN&TL Mechanical and Electrical Company 6 (with headquarters, land and factory in Vinh Phuc), NN&TL Mechanical and Electrical Company 7 (with headquarters, land and factory in Tuyen Quang), NN&TL 10 Mechanical and Electrical Company (headquarters, land and factory in Thanh Hoa) joined the Mechanical, Electrical and Rural Development Company and changed its name to Hanoi Agricultural and Irrigation Construction - Mechanical Electrical Company.
- The company operates under Business Registration Certificate No. 0103009916 issued by the Department of Planning and Investment of Hanoi City for the first time on November 30, 2005 with a charter capital of: 12,000,000,000 VND (Twelve billion VND).Date June 21, 2007, changed name to Vietnam Electrical and Construction Joint Stock Company; Charter capital: 66,000,000,000 VND.
- June 21, 2007, renamed Vietnam Electromechanical and Construction Joint Stock Company
- September 24, 2009 officially listed on the Ho Chi Minh City Stock Exchange with code MCG according to decision No. 109 dated September 1, 2009 of HOSE.
