Timeline of Establishment & Development
- 1996 : On April 1, 1996, Masan established a Company in Russia to import and trade food products in the Eastern European market. June 20, 1996, Established Viet Tien Industry - Technology - Trade Joint Stock Company, specializing in producing processed food and spice industry products.
- 2000: May 31, 2000, Established Minh Viet Industry and Import-Export Joint Stock Company, specializing in the field of trade and import-export password.
- 2002: In 2002, to penetrate the potential domestic market, the Company shifted from export business to the domestic market by launching the brand “Chinsu”. The success of Chinsu is a continuation of the success of "Nam Ngu" and "Three Crown Prince" in 2007.
- 2003: On August 1, 2003, Viet Tien Industry - Technology - Trading Joint Stock Company merged into Minh Viet Industry and Import-Export Joint Stock Company, then the Company changed its name to Minh Viet Industry and Import-Export Joint Stock Company. Ma San Industry - Trade Joint Stock Company (Company), with total charter capital of 28,500,000,000 VND.
- 2009: On July 1, 2009, the Company added Business Sectors: Spice Production (not produced at the headquarters) and Flavor Production (except basic chemical production) version). On December 22, 2009, the Company changed its headquarters to Floor 12, Kumho Asiana Plaza Saigon Building, No. 39 Le Duan, Ben Nghe Ward, District 1, Ho Chi Minh City.
- 2011: On March 9, 2011, the Company changed its name to Ma San Consumer Goods Joint Stock Company. On April 15, 2011, the Company issued common shares to Kohlberg Kravis Roberts Investment Management Company (KKR) equivalent to 10% of charter capital after issuance. On October 17, 2011 & November 4, 2011, the Company purchased 50.25% shares of Vinacafé Bien Hoa Joint Stock Company.
- 2012: In December 2012, the Company purchased an additional 2.95% of the Company's shares
- 2013: On February 1, 2013, the Company successfully purchased 24.9% shares of Vinh Hao Mineral Water Joint Stock Company. In March 2013, the Company purchased an additional 38.61% shares of Vinh Hao Mineral Water Joint Stock Company, bringing the total number of shares held to 63.51%.
- 2014: On December 30, 2014, Masan Food One Member Company Limited - a subsidiary of the Company successfully offered to buy 32.8% of the shares of Cholimex Food Joint Stock Company.
- 2015: On January 14, 2015, Masan Food Company Limited - a subsidiary of the Company purchased 99.99% of the shares of Food Joint Stock Company Saigon Nutrition. On June 10, 2015, the Company changed its name to "MASAN CONSUMER JOINT STOCK COMPANY". On December 25, 2015, Masan Beverage One Member LLC - a subsidiary of the Company completed purchasing 65% of the shares of Quang Ninh Mineral Water Joint Stock Company. 2016 On January 6, 2016 and April 29, 2016, Masan Beverage One Member Company Limited - a subsidiary of the Company completed the purchase of an additional 24.61% shares of Vinh Hao Mineral Water Joint Stock Company, bringing the total number of shares owned in Vinh Hao to 88.56%. In February 2016, Masan Beverage One Member Company Limited also increased its share ownership in Vinacafe Bien Hoa to 60.16%. In early December 2016, Masan Beverage One Member Company Limited increased its share ownership in Vinacafe Bien Hoa to 68.46%.
