Establishment History:
- After the South was completely liberated and the country was unified, to serve the process of restoring and building the country after the war, on January 19, 1976, the Ministry of Transport issued Decision No. 222/QD-TC on the establishment of Quy Nhon Port, assigning the Seaway Department to directly manage it. According to the Party's mobilization, a group of officials was assigned to take over the port on the basis of a military port left behind by the old regime to serve the war, with almost nothing in equipment, warehouses, houses, and production tools.
- On July 2, 1993, the Minister of Transport issued Decision No. 1332/QD-TCCB-LD to establish Quy Nhon Port State Enterprise under the Vietnam Maritime Administration. On July 6, 2009, the Minister of Transport issued Decision No. 1936/QD-BGTVT on transferring Quy Nhon Port to become a member of Vietnam Maritime Corporation. On October 31, 2009, the Board of Directors of Vietnam Maritime Corporation issued decision No. 804/QD-HĐQT on converting Quy Nhon Port - an independent accounting member company of Vietnam National Shipping Lines into Quy Nhon Port One Member Limited Liability Company.
- Quy Nhon Port One Member Limited Liability Company began the process of equitization and transformation into a joint stock company implemented according to Decision No. 276/QD-TTg dated February 4, 2013 of the Prime Minister on approving the restructuring project of Vietnam Maritime Corporation for the period 2012-2015; Decision No. 103/QD-HHVN dated March 15, 2013 of the Board of Members of Vietnam Maritime Corporation on approving the list of units under Vietnam Maritime Corporation to be equitized in 2013.
- Quy Nhon Port Joint Stock Company was converted from Quy Nhon Port One Member Limited Liability Company, with the Company's charter capital of 404,099,500,000 VND, of which Vietnam Maritime Corporation holds 75.01% of the charter capital; The number of preferred shares of employees in the company accounts for 4.81% of charter capital; The Company's Trade Union shares account for 0.19% of charter capital; The strategic investor's shares account for 12.45% of charter capital; The number of shares of public shareholders accounts for 7.54% of charter capital.
