Timeline of Establishment & Development:
- Song Ban Shipbuilding Joint Stock Company, formerly known as Hai Phong Mechanical Enterprise, was established on May 28, 1959 under Decision No. 152/NQ of the Hai Phong City Administrative Committee.
- In March 1961, it was merged with shipyard 2, renamed Hai Phong Mechanical and became a central state-owned enterprise managed by the Ministry of Transport with the main task of building and repairing all types of water transport vehicles.
- On March 28, 1983, the Ministry of Transport issued Decision No. 373/QD-GTVT to change the name to Song Cam Shipyard.
- Implementing the Government's policy on innovating state-owned enterprises, on July 30, 2007, Vietnam Shipbuilding Industry Group (now Shipbuilding Industry Corporation) issued Decision No. 2349/QD-CNT-DMDN on approving the plan and converting Song Cam Shipyard into Song Cam Shipbuilding Joint Stock Company.
- On April 29, 2008, the Company officially operated as a joint stock company according to Business Registration Certificate No. 0203004251 with charter capital of 142,127,940,000 VND.
- On May 25, 2010, charter capital after issuance was 167,364,780,000 VND
- On July 31, 2011, charter capital after issuance was 171,412,780,000 VND
- On August 31, 2012, charter capital after issuance was 177,939,260,000 VND
- On August 15, 2014, charter capital after issuance was 619,689,260,000 VND.
