- The company's predecessor was a private garment factory "Pacific Industrial Company" whose trading name was Pacific Enterprise. This enterprise has 8 shareholders with capital contributed by Mr. Sam Bao Tai - a Chinese businessman as Director. The factory operates on an area of 1,513m2¬¬¬ with 65 household sewing machines and about 100 workers.
- In May 1977, the Ministry of Industry recognized it as a state-owned enterprise and changed its name to Viet Tien Garment Enterprise.
- On November 13, 1979, the factory caught fire and was completely damaged. However, with support from friendly units, plus their enthusiasm for sticking with the enterprise, all Viet Tien workers and leaders have brought the unit back into operation and increasingly affirmed its position in the market.
- Thanks to that effort, according to Decision No. 103/CNN/TCLD, the enterprise was approved by the Ministry of Industry to be upgraded to Viet Tien Garment Company. After that, the Ministry of Foreign Economic Relations granted a direct import-export license with the foreign transaction name VIET TIEN GARMENT IMPORT-EXPORT COMPANY, abbreviated as VTEC (according to license number 102570 dated February 8, 1991)
- On March 24, 1993, the company was granted enterprise establishment license No. 214/CNN-TCLD by the Ministry of Industry.
- Before 1995, the company's direct management agency was the GARMENT PRODUCTION - IMPORT EXPORT ASSOCIATION. Due to the requirements of businesses and the Ministry of Industry, it is necessary to have a Textile and Garment Corporation to act as a bridge between businesses and the macro level, to access the world to support market information, and to concretize policies and laws... Therefore, on April 29, 1995, VIETNAM TEXTILE AND GARMENT CORPORATION was born.
- Pursuant to Decree No. 55/2003/ND-CP dated May 28, 2003 of the Government regulating the functions, tasks, powers and organizational structure of the Ministry of Industry. Pursuant to Document No. 7599/VPCP-DMDN dated December 29, 2006 of the Government Office on the reorganization of Viet Tien Garment Company. Considering the proposal of the Vietnam Textile and Garment Group in Report No. 28/TDDM-TCLD dated January 9, 2007 and the Project to establish Viet Tien Garment Corporation. According to the proposal of the Director of the Department of Personnel Organization, it is decided to: Establish Viet Tien Garment Corporation on the basis of reorganizing Viet Tien Garment Company under Vietnam Textile and Garment Group.
- On February 13, 2007, the Ministry of Industry issued Decision No. 544/QD-BCN on equitizing Viet Tien Garment Corporation
