- 2007: Viettel International Investment Joint Stock Company was established under Business Registration Certificate No. 0102409426 issued by the City Department of Planning and Investment. Hanoi issued it on October 24, 2007. Initial capital is 960 billion VND.
- January 2008 Viettel Global received Investment License in Cambodia
- February 2008 Star Telecom Company - a joint venture between Viettel and Lao Asia Telecom Company was established, becoming the fourth telecommunications service provider in Laos.
- February 2009: Launched a telecommunications network in Cambodia with the Metfone brand, Viettel's first brand to be "exported" abroad. Metfone is the first enterprise in Cambodia to provide multiple telecommunications services with the largest network infrastructure and coverage area.
- October 2009: Launched telecommunications network in Laos with the Unitel brand. At the time of opening, Unitel was a telecommunications service provider with the largest network infrastructure and coverage area in Laos.
- April 2010: Unitel officially provided ADSL services nationwide and quickly created a boom in high-speed Internet.
- April 2010: Received telecommunications license in Haiti through Natcom S.A.
- July 2010: Metfone is the first network operator in Cambodia to announce the opening of 3G services.
- October 2010: Unitel officially launched 3G service provision in 17 provinces nationwide with the message "Faster - Brighter".

- May 2012: Launch of telecommunications network in Mozambique under the brand name Movitel.

- July 2013: Officially launched sales in the East Timor market with the brand name Telemor.
- October 2013: Officially changed the name from the Company to Viettel International Investment Joint Stock Corporation, abbreviated name is VIETTEL GLOBAL.
- December 2013: Received telecommunications license in Burundi.
- End of 2013: Revenue from foreign operations reached nearly 1 billion USD.
- June 2014: Movitel rose to No. 1 position in Mozambique in terms of mobile market share - accounting for 38%.
- September 2014: Started providing telecommunications services in Cameroon under the brand name Nexttel, the first network operator in Cameroon to provide 3G services.
- October 2014: Telemor rose to become the largest network operator in East Timor after only 1 year of business, with 420,000 customers, covering 95% of the population.

- March 2015: Started providing trial services in Burundi under the brand name Lumitel.

- October 2015: Launch of Halotel telecommunications network in Tanzania.
- October 2016: Reached 35 million customers in foreign markets, bringing Viettel's total number of global customers to 100 million, helping Viettel reach the Top 30 telecommunications corporations with the largest number of customers in the world.
- December 2016: Providing e-wallet services in 6/8 markets with the names eMoney (Cambodia), E-Mola (Mozambique), Lajan Cash (Haiti), Halopesa (Tanzania), Lumicash (Burundi), Possa (Cameroon).
- 2016: Providing 4G services in Laos, Burundi, Cambodia, Haiti and Peru markets, continuing to maintain the pioneering position in technology.
- January 2017: Received investment license in Myanmar. This is the 9th foreign market and also the largest and most potential market of Viettel Global ever.
- January 2017: Deployment of Roaming package for 3 Indochina countries - Viettel's pioneering and breakthrough step with borderless telecommunications policy.
- July 2017: Telemor becomes the first network operator in East Timor to offer 4G.
- June 2018: Opening of Mytel telecommunications network in Myanmar.
