Establishment History:

  • The former Vietnam Textile and Garment Corporation (Vinatex) was established as an association between central state enterprises in the field of textiles and garments. Vinatex carries out production, import and export and is a wholesale and retail consumption network of textiles and garments. Vinatex's diverse activities from investment, production, supply of raw materials to sales and product consumption all comply with Vietnamese Law.
  • The pilot project to establish Vietnam Textile and Garment Group and establish the parent company - Vietnam Textile and Garment Group was approved by the Prime Minister in Decision No. 314/2005/QD-TTg and number 316/2005/QD-TTg December 2, 2005. In which, the Parent Company - Textile and Garment Group is a State-owned company, with the function of direct production, business and financial investment in other businesses, retaining the right to control subsidiaries through capital, assets assigned by the State to manage, technology, brands and markets.
  • On June 25, 2010, the Prime Minister issued Decision No. 974/QD-TTg on converting the parent company - Vietnam Textile and Garment Group into a one-member limited liability company owned by the State.
  • On March 7, 2011, the Prime Minister issued Decision No. 340/QD-TTg Approved the Charter of organization and operation of Vietnam Textile and Garment Group.
  • On February 8, 2013, the Prime Minister issued Decision No. 320/QD-TTg approved the Restructuring Project of Vietnam Textile and Garment Group for the period 2013 - 2015.
  • On October 9, 2013, the Government issued Decree No. 118/2013/ND-CP on the Charter of organization and operation of Vietnam Textile and Garment Group.
  • In 2014, Vietnam Textile and Garment Group successfully equitized according to Decision No. 646/QD-TTg dated May 6, 2014 of the Prime Minister approving the equitization plan of the Parent Company - Vietnam Textile and Garment Group. On September 22, 2014, the Group successfully carried out the initial public offering of shares, held the first General Meeting of Shareholders on January 8, 2015 and was granted a Business Registration Certificate to operate under the Joint Stock Company model by the Hanoi Department of Planning and Investment on January 29, 2015.
