Establishment History and development:

Vietnam Forestry Corporation (Vinafor) was established in 1995 on the basis of merging 10 corporations under the former Ministry of Forestry, now the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, with main activities in the fields of planting, forest protection and forest product processing with a nationwide scale of operations.
In 1997, the Corporation was ranked by the Prime Minister as a special-class State-owned enterprise.
On November 25, 2009, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development issued Decision No. 3390/QD-BNN approving the Project to convert Vietnam Forestry Corporation to operate under the model of Parent Company - Subsidiary Company with the Parent Company being a one-member LLC with 28 different industries.
