Establishment Timeline:
- Vietnam Foreign Trade Logistics Joint Stock Company (VINATRANS), formerly known as Southern Vietnam Foreign Trade Logistics Company, was established under Decision No. 411 BKTTC/QDTC on July 14, 1975 by the Ministry of Economy and Finance of the Provisional Revolutionary Government of the Republic of South Vietnam, with headquarters located at 406 Trinh Minh The (now Nguyen Tat Thanh Street) District 4, City Ho Chi Minh.
- On June 24, 1976, the Ministry of Foreign Trade issued a Decision to convert the Southern Vietnam Foreign Trade Logistics Company into the Ho Chi Minh City Foreign Trade Logistics Company to establish the Vietnam Foreign Trade Logistics Corporation, of which the Ho Chi Minh City Foreign Trade Logistics Company is a member.
- On January 18, 1995, the Ministry of Trade issued Decision No. 51/QD-TCCB separating Ho Chi Minh City Foreign Trade Warehousing and Logistics Company into an independent accounting state-owned enterprise, with legal status and directly under the Ministry of Trade.
- In 1996, the Company completed the registration procedures to re-establish a State-owned enterprise according to Decree No. 388/ND-CP of the Government and was ranked a Class 1 Enterprise according to the Decision of the Ministry of Trade.
- On June 8, 1996, the Company established a branch in Hanoi.
- On September 5, 1996, the Company established a branch in Da Nang.
- On October 1, 1998, to comply with the organizational system and expanded business scope nationwide, with the consent of the Ministry of Trade, the Company used the official trade name VINATRANS.
- On December 25, 1998, the Company established a Branch in Hai Phong.
- In 1999, implementing the Government's policy of equitizing state-owned enterprises, the Company transformed the Transport Agency and Consolidation Enterprise into VINALINK Joint Stock Company.
- In 2001, the Company continued to equitize the Logistics Service Enterprise into VINAFREIGHT Joint Stock Company.
- In 2002, the Company continued to equitize the Da Nang branch into VINATRANS DA NANG Joint Stock Company.
- At the end of 2002, the Company established a representative office in Can Tho.
- In 2003, the Company continued to equitize Hanoi Branch into VINATRANS HANOI Joint Stock Company.
- In 2004, the Company contributed capital to establish 02 subsidiaries, VA EXPRESS Co., Ltd. and V-TRUCK Co., Ltd. and 01 affiliated company, VECTOR AVIATION Co., Ltd.
- During its operation, the Company has participated in establishing joint venture companies with foreign partners: KONOIKE VINA Joint Venture Company, NISSIN LOGISTICS Joint Venture Company, AGILITY Joint Venture Company, HYUNDAI VINATRANS LOGISTICS Joint Venture Company.
- In 2010, the Company equitized and transformed into a joint stock company with the name Vietnam Foreign Trade Logistics and Logistics Joint Stock Company and operates with a Charter Capital of 255 billion VND to date
- In 2012, the Company participated in the establishment of Sojitz Logistics Co., Ltd. (Vietnam), Vietway Company, and at the same time completed the dissolution procedures for its subsidiary, VA EXPRESS Co., Ltd.
- On September 4, 2014, the company's shares were officially traded on the UPCOM market at the Hanoi Stock Exchange.
