Establishment History
The Company's predecessor was a small factory of Sony Company established in 1973, and through the stages of development from Tan Binh electromechanical factory (1975), Tan Binh rotating capacitor manufacturing factory (1981), Enterprise Vietronics Tan Binh (1983), in 1991 changed its name to Tan Binh Electronics Company with ownership as a state-owned enterprise.
In July 2004, Tan Binh Electronics Company moved to operate as a joint stock company and changed its name to Tan Binh Electronics Joint Stock Company according to Decision No. 240/2003/QD-BCN signed on December 30, 2003 of the Minister of Industry.
Establishment History of the Company can be summarized in the table below:
- 1981: Established “Tan Binh Capacitor Manufacturing Factory” under the Union of Electronic Enterprises, with the trading name “Viettronics Tan Binh”.
- 1983 – 1985: Changed name from Rotary Capacitor Manufacturing Factory to “Viettronics Tan Binh Enterprise”. Putting the LR rotating capacitor line with a capacity of 800,000 units/year into operation. Started manufacturing printed circuits.
- 1986: Establishment of Electronics assembly workshop (TV, radio,..).
- 1991: "Viettronics Tan Binh Enterprise" was renamed "Tan Binh Electronics Company" with the trading name "Viettronics Tan Binh Company" until June 2004. Main business lines: production, assembly, warranty, wholesale and retail of electrical and electronic products.
- 1994: Established joint venture Sony Vietnam.
- 1996: Established joint venture JVC Vietnam.
- 1997: Moved headquarters to 422 Ho Van Hue.
- 1999: Participated in contributing capital to establish Vitek Joint Stock Company
- 2000: Started building the VTB brand with products: color televisions and other audio products.
- 2001: Introducing audio products - high quality sound systems of the VTB brand.
- 2002: Entering the domestic information technology market with VTB branded computer products.
- 2004: In early July, transformed into Tan Binh Electronics Joint Stock Company - VTB JSC.
- 2005: Launched liquid crystal display TVs and liquid crystal computer monitors under the VTB brand.
- 2006: Continuing to affirm its position in Vietnam's IT field by providing the market with professional, high-end laptop models while expanding and developing production in the field of civil refrigeration.
- 2007: Transformed production and business activities of Vitek Company into Vitek product sales department at VTB.
- 2008: The company continues to list additional 976,705 shares increased the total number of shares listed on the City Stock Exchange. HCM to 11,982,050 shares. Currently, the total number of shares of Tan Binh Electronics Joint Stock Company is listed on the City Stock Exchange. HCM is 11,982,050 shares with a total value of 119,820,500,000 VND.
- August 2009: The company established a subsidiary named Viet Tan Binh Information Technology Joint Stock Company, with capital contribution accounting for 51%.
- November 2010: The company established a subsidiary named Vitek VTB Hanoi Joint Stock Company, with capital contribution of 57%
- January 2012 The company established a subsidiary named Vitek VTB HCM Joint Stock Company, with capital contribution of 51%
- April 2012: The company established a subsidiary named JS VTB Trading Joint Stock Company, capital contribution accounts for 70%
- May 2015: Changed company name from Tan Binh Electronics Joint Stock Company to Tan Binh Viettronics Joint Stock Company

The company has 03 main product groups:
1. AV product group: includes TVs, LCD TVs, high-resolution TVs, DVD - VCD players, Karaoke amplifiers. This is a traditional product group, associated with the name of VTB. The AV product group currently accounts for 70% of the company's total revenue.
2. Information technology product group: VTB is the first computer manufacturer in Vietnam to invest in modern production lines and technology. Up to now, the Company has many diverse computer product lines, suitable to consumers' needs:
- Laptop line: Although accounting for a relatively small proportion, the company's sales volume still ranks first compared to Vietnamese companies such as: Elead, Khai Tri, CMS.
- Laptop line: includes convenience line, home line, office line, professional line, server system. Sales rank third after Elead and CMS.
- LCD screen: almost only competes with foreign products such as Samsung, Acer, TCL...
3. Refrigeration product group: Currently, VTB has refrigerator and washing machine products.
In addition to main business activities, the company also contributes capital to two foreign joint venture companies and one domestic company
